1-bedroom properties are as the name suggests, those that have one allocated bedroom. They are sometimes referred to as 1 bhk, meaning 1 bedroom, a hall and a kitchen. It is the smallest residential unit that has a separate sleeping area. This type of property would suit a single person or couple that prefer to have a separate sleeping area to their living area. There are 1-bedroom apartments available that are advertised as having a separate office room too within the apartment which is great for some extra useful space. It is advisable to check the facilities being offered and also the layout of the apartment as some agents do not always list all the amenities fully. It is possible to find 1-bedroom properties in the form of an apartment in an apartment block or tower, a section of a villa, a townhouse portion or serviced apartment in a residential block or hotel.
A house is a property that is usually set out over two or more floors. In Qatar, houses are usually referred to as villas, although it is possible to also find townhouses too. There are two kinds of villas: either standalone villas or compound villas. A standalone villa is defined as a house that has boundary walls and stands on its own private land as a detached and separate entity. A compound villa is defined as a house that is located within a residential compound or "neighbourhood/society". Compounds vary in size and can be anything from a handful of houses to hundreds in the much larger compounds. Both have their benefits and drawbacks for example, standalone villas offer more privacy for their occupants and compound villas usually benefit from many more amenities, security and maintenance.
A townhouse is a type of terraced housing often referred to as "row houses" as they are constructed in rows and stand side by side with shared walls usually to both sides. Most townhouses typically have more than 2 floors and commonly three in most regions. There is a wide variety of houses available in Qatar with varying amenities and suitable for most budgets.
New Salata, also known as As Salatah Al Jadidah, is a district in the municipality of Doha. It was founded by the Al-Sulaiti tribe, the inhabitants of Doha's coastal As Salatah district who moved to the west of Doha in 1970s. During that time, the area was uninhabited and undeveloped; located just outside city boundaries. It was built up over the years and connected to Doha's main districts through the C-Ring Road.
The district has great road links and the major roads that run through it are Salwa Road (Q5), C-Ring Road, D-Ring Road, Ali Bin Abi Taleb Street, and Rawdat Al Khail Street. There are many local schools in the district and the New Salata Park spanning over 7,000 square metres which serve the residents of the community. The Al Arabi multi-sports club is located in the district and the Grand Hamad Stadium on its grounds is also home ground to Al Arabi Football Club, one of the most prominent Qatari Football clubs. There is a good selection of both apartments and villas to rent in New Salata ranging from studio apartments for bachelors to large standalone villas for families.
