Fereej Al Soudan is a district in the municipality of Al Rayyan. In Arabic "Fereej" means neighbourhood and Al Soudan refers to the first, most well-known or populated tribe that settled in the area. The Al-Suwaidi tribe was among the first tribes to settle in the area hence the name. It is officially listed as being in two Zones of Qatar. Approximately one third (the north section) of the district is located in Zone 54 together with 5 other districts and the remaining two thirds (central and south sections) of the district are located in Zone 55, in addition to 9 other districts to make up Zone 55 of Qatar. It borders Al Waab district to the south and Fereej Al Nasr and Al Sadd districts of Doha to the east.
The district has good road links with the Doha expressway also known as the Al Shamal Road (Q1) running along its east edge and Salwa Road (Q5) along its south edge. The district has its own Metro station Al Sudan, on the Gold Line and several bus routes serve the area on a daily basis. The district is mainly residential with more than 10 schools, both local and international for all ages, serving the community. The rental homes in Fereej Al Soudan are mainly villas suitable for families, however it is possible to find apartments to rent too.
